About me
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Certified Group Psychotherapist (CGP) with over four years of experience providing individual, couples, and group therapy in inpatient and outpatient settings. I offer services in English, Spanish, or Spanglish.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked in finance in New York and Mexico City, and I often draw on that experience when working with professionals. My approach is also deeply shaped by the real-life lessons of being in a long-term marriage and raising two sons.
Education and Experience
I studied Clinical Social Work at the University of Houston’s Graduate College of Social Work and graduated in 2021.
In 2022, I completed a Post Graduate Fellowship in Clinical Social Work from the Menninger Clinic in Houston. I received intensive training in psychodynamic psychotherapy with individuals, families, and groups working alongside psychiatrists, psychologists, and addiction specialists in the hospital’s Program for Professionals unit. Before opening my private practice, I worked for three years at the Lovett Center where I provided individual and couples therapy and led psychoeducational and psychotherapy groups for patients in intensive outpatient programs (IOP).
I have experience in the treatment of depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, trauma, personality disorders, suicidal ideation, and substance use disorders.
Approach
While my approach is primarily Psychodynamic, I have training in other modalities including CBT, DBT, ACT, mindfulness, and psychodrama. I work collaboratively with my clients to define treatment goals and find the unique approach that works best for each individual.
